How To Join

There are three categories of membership: Active, Associate, and Honorary Life/Founding Membership.

All applications for membership must be submitted to the Executive Secretary for review and approval. The following requirements shall apply to each category of membership, and membership runs annually from the date of purchase.

The amount of the annual membership fee shall be determined by the Board of the Association and shall be the same for active and associate members.

Membership categories

  • Active: Practicing hostage/crisis negotiators meeting APNN standards and expectations.
  • Associate: Professionals supporting negotiation operations, training, or research.
  • Honorary Life/Founding: Founders and individuals recognized for exceptional contribution to the Association.

How to apply

  1. Create your account and select the membership category that fits you.
  2. Your application is routed to the Executive Secretary for review and approval.
  3. After approval, complete your annual subscription (Active/Associate) for access through 31 December.
