Who Is Eligible

Membership in the Asian Professional Negotiators Association is open to individuals who have demonstrated professional experience and commitment in the field of crisis and hostage negotiation.

Eligible members typically include:

• Current or former law enforcement officers who have served on dedicated hostage or crisis negotiation teams
• Command-level personnel responsible for oversight or coordination of negotiation operations
• Recognised negotiation trainers or practitioners with verified field experience
• Professionals from related fields (e.g. corrections, military, or emergency services) with negotiation responsibilities, subject to review

Each application is reviewed by the Executive Secretary and subject to approval by the Board. Membership is reserved for individuals who uphold the values and ethical standards of the Association, and who bring experience, integrity, and purpose to the profession of negotiation.
